Octave tech to drive Racing Bulls' asset operations

Octave has signed a multi-year technical partnership with the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One team, serving as Asset Lifecycle Management Partner as the team prepares for another season of rapid development and tight operational windows.

The agreement focuses on deploying Octave's asset lifecycle management software across Racing Bulls' operations. Formerly part of Hexagon, Octave said the relationship is aimed at day-to-day execution rather than branding.

Formula One teams manage thousands of components, tools, and support assets across factories and race venues. Workflows span design and build, logistics, garage operations, and maintenance planning. Timelines are compressed, engineering changes are constant, and there is little margin for disruption.

Octave positions its software for organisations that track and maintain complex asset bases. It said Racing Bulls reflects conditions seen in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, and transportation, where equipment availability and maintenance decisions can affect output and safety.

Racing Bulls, based in Faenza, Italy, and Milton Keynes, United Kingdom, has continued to invest in processes and tools that connect factory work with the trackside environment. Its operating model relies on repeatable handovers between departments, with engineers, mechanics, and logistics staff depending on accurate status information about parts and equipment.

Factory systems

At the centre of the deployment is Octave Attune, previously known as HxGN EAM. The software supports asset management for tracking equipment, tools, and operational processes, and is intended to provide a unified view of operational and asset data.

In practice, this means maintaining consistent records for assets and work activity, plus visibility into asset condition and readiness. These factors influence when teams schedule maintenance and how they prioritise limited time and resources during development cycles.

Factory operations in Formula One often run alongside continuous design changes and high volumes of specialised tools and test equipment. Delays can ripple through build schedules, quality checks, and freight planning. An asset management layer can help staff identify faults or missing items faster and reschedule work more effectively.

Track execution

Race weekends add further complexity. Teams move large volumes of equipment across multiple geographies throughout the season. Garage operations depend on the condition and availability of equipment, as well as the readiness of car assemblies and supporting hardware.

Octave said the partnership will embed its software into daily workflows, linking factory work with trackside activities. It highlighted the need for coordination across critical systems and consistent operational information as cars, spares, and equipment move between sites.

Racing Bulls competes in a midfield where incremental gains in pace and reliability matter. Disruption can carry a direct sporting cost through missed practice running, delayed repairs, or compromised set-up work. Small differences in readiness can also affect how effectively teams use limited track time.

Wider context

Software suppliers increasingly use Formula One partnerships to demonstrate products in an environment of intense operational scrutiny. These deals span data platforms, collaboration tools, manufacturing and simulation software, and systems that track equipment performance and service schedules.

Octave employs about 7,200 people across 45 countries. It sells software for managing the asset lifecycle across design, build, operate, and protect, with a focus on structured operational data and decision-making. Octave said the Racing Bulls programme will serve as a proving ground in a setting where equipment readiness and process discipline are under constant stress.

The partnership will run for multiple years, embedding Octave Attune across Racing Bulls' factory and track operations, with both organisations emphasising reliability and execution during live race activity.
