Ecommpay gains full DAC approval for accessible site

Fri, 12th Dec 2025

Ecommpay has received full approval from the Digital Accessibility Centre for its website and product pages, which now meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility standards.

The payments company said the certification covers its entire public website and product information pages. It follows earlier approvals for its mobile software development kit and Hosted Payment Page.

The Digital Accessibility Centre is an independent accessibility consultancy. It assessed the site against the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.

Ecommpay said the DAC carried out a three-strand testing process. The process checked compliance with the WCAG 2.2 AA level, which is a widely adopted benchmark for digital accessibility.

The move forms part of Ecommpay’s inclusivity programme, Ecommpay for Good. The company relaunched its website in 2024 after a full redesign under that initiative.

The new site uses specific colours, fonts and layouts that aim to improve access for people with visual and hearing impairments. It also addresses needs linked to cognitive and physical disabilities.

The DAC has already certified Ecommpay’s payments platform and dashboard. The company said these products enable merchants to offer a more inclusive payments experience for end users.

Accessibility focus

Ecommpay positions itself as a global payments platform that works with merchants in multiple markets. Its services include acquiring, payment processing and orchestration, and access to more than 100 payment methods.

The company said the accessibility work spans its customer-facing website and its core payment flows. It said it aimed for consistency in user experience between the public site and transaction environments.

Max Ryzhov, Chief Product Officer at Ecommpay, led the audit process with the DAC. He said inclusivity is a central part of the firm’s approach to product and service design.

“At Ecommpay, inclusivity is built into everything we do, it is never an afterthought,” said Max Ryzhov, Chief Product Officer, Ecommpay. “Every team across the business is committed to delivering an inclusive and accessible service to our merchant clients and their end customers. It is, therefore, essential that our website and payment platform support that commitment. So we have invested significantly in redesigning our systems and website.

Ryzhov said the company worked in detail with the DAC during the redesign.

“Throughout the process we have worked closely with the DAC, to ensure every part of every menu on every page aligns with WCAG guidelines. Working in partnership like this meant we were not only able to quickly rectify any minor issues flagged during the detailed audit; it also meant we gained invaluable insights that will help us as we design and build new products, solutions and web pages in future,” said Ryzhov.

He said the process involved extensive internal effort as well as external review.

“To carry out the redesign fully, so that every element of our website and payment platform are fully accessible has not been a quick or easy task, but the team has remained focused and determined to reach this important goal. Achieving this DAC approval is testament to everyone’s commitment and perseverance, and their ability to remain focused on the bigger priority of ultimate inclusivity,” said Ryzhov.
Guide for merchants

Ecommpay is also making a new digital accessibility guide available at no cost. The guide outlines the actions that organisations need to take if they want their sites to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA standard.

The document covers each section of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. It includes a checklist that developers can use as they build and maintain websites.

Ecommpay has published the guide in HTML and PDF formats. The company said it intends that merchants can integrate the guidance into existing development workflows.

The firm is authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority under UK payment services regulation. It is also a principal member of Mastercard and Visa, and its platform holds Level 1 PCI DSS certification.

Ecommpay said it will apply the insights from the DAC review and its current accessibility work to future products and web pages as it expands its payments offering.
