Citi has launched Citi Consolidate, an invoice processing tool that integrates with Infor Nexus for buyers and suppliers.

The product digitises invoice approval, purchase order and payables workflows for corporate clients using Infor's supply chain network.

The launch targets a part of international trade that has often relied on manual document handling. Invoice creation, reconciliation and payment approvals have frequently been fragmented and slow, with processing taking weeks in some cases.

By linking trade documentation and payment workflows in one system, Citi aims to reduce approval times and increase straight-through processing. The product gives buyers a shared repository for purchase orders, invoices and transport documents, while automating document matching, approval steps and discrepancy resolution.

For suppliers, the main change is earlier visibility into invoice approvals and payment status, which can affect access to short-term funding. The service also opens access to finance options including purchase order financing, deep-tier financing and dynamic discounting.

Buyer focus

Citi is positioning the offering as a working capital tool for both sides of a supply chain. Buyers are promised better visibility into cash flow and lower supplier risk if key vendors can secure finance more quickly.

That matters in cross-border trade, where documentation delays can hold up payment and strain supplier relationships. Large companies have been looking for ways to connect procurement, logistics and finance data more closely as they try to reduce paper-based processes.

Infor Nexus has long focused on linking supply chain and financial information across multiple companies in a trading network. Citi's integration with the platform gives the bank a route into clients already using Infor's systems to manage supply chain activity.

"Citi Consolidate demonstrates our relentless commitment to driving innovative solutions to help our clients advance their digital journeys. This new capability will help our clients realize their goal of eliminating paper processes, while also optimizing their working capital. At the same time, it will provide accessible and actionable data that our clients can use to help manage their businesses more efficiently," said Adoniro Cestari, Global Head of Trade and Working Capital Solutions, Citi Services.

Citi has also started operating as a financing service provider for Infor Nexus clients in the United States. That means Citi customers using the network can access financing services without moving between multiple platforms.

The initial rollout covers clients in the United States and Canada. Citi plans to expand the service to additional countries later in 2026.

The move reflects continued investment by large transaction banks in digital trade infrastructure, particularly in areas where manual processing still shapes everyday operations. Trade finance and supply chain finance providers have increasingly focused on using structured data to speed approvals, improve audit trails and give both buyers and suppliers clearer information on transaction status.

Competition in that market has centred on whether banks can fit into the software systems clients already use. Rather than asking corporate customers to adopt separate trade portals, lenders have sought to embed financing and payment tools within procurement, enterprise resource planning and supply chain platforms.

Infor said the arrangement builds on its established role in connecting physical and financial flows across trading networks. It said combining its network with Citi's trade business could simplify invoice handling across sectors.

"Infor has been bridging physical and financial supply chains for two decades and is excited to work with Citi, a global leader in trade, to further automate customers' trade flows across industry verticals. Infor Nexus' network capability will help drive data management, leading to harmonized invoice processes and improved cash flow visibility, while Citi's global network and advisory services optimize the use of capital across a company's supply chain. Together, we will digitally transform an organization's financial supply chain," said Gary Schneider, VP, Financial Services, Infor.
