8x8 has appointed Boris Grinshpun as Global Vice President of Product Management. He joins from NICE.

Grinshpun will lead the global product management organisation and oversee the roadmap for 8x8's unified communications, contact centre and CPaaS portfolio.

The appointment comes as 8x8 expands customer experience products that use artificial intelligence. In his new role, Grinshpun will manage product execution across the company's communications and customer service software lines.

He brings more than 20 years of experience in enterprise software and customer engagement technology. Most recently, he was Vice President of Product Portfolio at NICE, where he oversaw product strategy for outbound engagement, agent workspace, customer relationship management and AI-related initiatives.

He also worked on integrating acquired technologies into NICE's customer experience platform and helped launch AI-based products. 8x8 said his product packaging and pricing strategies supported more than USD $25 million in bookings.

Before NICE, Grinshpun was Vice President of Product and Strategy at LiveVox, which NICE later acquired. According to 8x8, he helped transform LiveVox from a point product into a broader customer engagement platform, contributing to revenue growth and its 2021 public listing.

Earlier in his career, he co-founded financial technology company Terafina, which NCR acquired. He has also held product strategy and leadership roles at U.S. Bank, Wells Fargo and HSBC.

AI focus

8x8 is framing the appointment as part of a broader push into AI for customer experience and communications software. The company combines contact centre, unified communications and CPaaS products on a single platform, and has been expanding AI across those offerings.

Samuel Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of 8x8, said the company sees growing demand for AI-led customer experience tools built on voice communications infrastructure.

"The next era of customer experience will be defined by companies that can combine the power of AI with the reliability and performance of enterprise-grade communications," said Samuel Wilson, Chief Executive Officer of 8x8. "As agentic voice AI adoption accelerates, high-quality, dependable voice communications are more critical than ever. With decades of expertise in delivering carrier-grade voice, a deeply integrated CX platform, and a native AI development environment, we have the technology and vision to bring the next era of AI-powered customer experience to life for our customers. Boris brings the product leadership and proven track record of innovation and execution to help us turn our advantages into breakthrough customer experiences and measurable business outcomes."

8x8 did not disclose any financial terms related to the appointment. Grinshpun will play a central role in shaping product direction across the company's integrated software portfolio.

Product remit

His remit spans Unified Communications as a Service, Contact Centre as a Service and Communications Platform as a Service products. Those segments are central to 8x8's effort to provide communications and customer engagement tools through a single platform.

Grinshpun's background reflects a long-standing focus on contact centre technology and product strategy. According to 8x8, his two most recent roles aligned with the shift in contact centre software from conversational AI to agentic AI.

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the University of Michigan.

Grinshpun said the move comes at an important point for the business as it develops its customer experience platform.

"8x8 is at a pivotal moment," said Boris Grinshpun, Global Vice President of Product Management at 8x8. "The company's 8x8 Platform for CX has the foundation and ability to make AI-powered customer experiences work at scale, and the ambition to lead the next wave of customer experience. I look forward to continuing to partner with our talented product team to accelerate the roadmap and deliver innovations that make a measurable difference for our customers."
