WiseTech & Elm join forces on Saudi logistics tech
WiseTech Global has signed a memorandum of understanding with Saudi Arabia's Elm Company to explore new technology projects for the kingdom's logistics sector.
The non-binding agreement outlines potential collaboration on digital solutions to improve operational efficiency and service delivery across logistics, aligned with Saudi Arabia's broader digital transformation agenda.
Elm provides digital services to public- and private-sector organisations in Saudi Arabia. WiseTech develops software used by logistics and supply chain companies, including its CargoWise application suite.
Scope of work
Under the memorandum, the parties will assess modern technologies and identify where they could be applied in logistics operations. This includes reviewing digital tools to improve operational processes and customer experience.
The customer experience focus centres on solutions that prioritise simplicity, flexibility and service quality. The memorandum also covers collaboration and knowledge sharing between the two organisations.
Integration is also a theme for any joint technology work, with an aim to develop solutions that deliver "sustainable added value" for the sector.
Conference signing
Elm and WiseTech signed the memorandum during the Saudi Supply Chain and Logistics Conference 2025. Elm was represented by Hesham S. AlNaser, Vice President - Logistics Products, and WiseTech by Vlad Bilanovsky, Chief Execution Officer.
The announcement ties the collaboration to the ongoing digitisation of trade and logistics across the Gulf, where governments and industry groups have pushed for more integrated information flows and better supply-chain visibility. Saudi Arabia has positioned logistics as a strategic sector as it invests in infrastructure, ports and regulatory reform.
For WiseTech, the memorandum also signals interest in expanding its footprint in Saudi Arabia, where logistics operators and government-linked organisations have increased their use of software platforms for freight forwarding, customs and transport operations.
WiseTech says its software is used by logistics companies in 193 countries. It reports more than 17,000 logistics organisations as customers across CargoWise and non-CargoWise platforms, including 47 of the top 50 global third-party logistics providers and 24 of the 25 largest global freight forwarders.
Company comments
Elm described the memorandum as part of its broader partnerships strategy around digital services.
"Elm continues to play its role as a leading digital enabler for government entities and businesses in Saudi Arabia and the wider region, building strategic partnerships that drive the development of innovative digital solutions. This collaboration reflects our commitment to supporting digital transformation and enhancing the efficiency of the logistics sector in line with future aspirations," said Majid bin Saad Al-Arifi, Vice President of Marketing, Elm.
WiseTech described Saudi Arabia as a market with growth potential for logistics and related technology deployments.
"Saudi Arabia represents significant opportunities for growth and development in the logistics sector. We are delighted to collaborate with Elm to explore innovative technology solutions that enhance operational performance, improve customer experience, and support the sector's digital transformation journey," said Bilanovsky.
Both parties said they will explore opportunities under the memorandum, focusing on identifying use cases for digital solutions and assessing how joint development and knowledge sharing could be structured for logistics deployments in Saudi Arabia.
