Anuj Dhall named Group Head to drive Interac technology vision
Interac has appointed Anuj Dhall as Group Head, Technology & Operations, succeeding Jeff Henderson, who has retired after a 30-year career in financial services.
Mr. Dhall takes up the position with a remit to further modernise the company's technology infrastructure, enhance agility across its operations, and reinforce standards of operational excellence. His appointment forms part of Interac's ongoing focus on strengthening secure, reliable digital solutions in payments, digital verification and commerce within Canada.
He will have responsibility for overseeing the architecture, engineering and technology operations of core services, including Interac Debit, Interac e-Transfer and Interac Verified. In addition, his position includes advancing Interac's work with Payments Canada, serving as fraud services provider and acting as the primary technical operator of the Real-Time Rail.
Jeremy Wilmot, President and Chief Executive Officer of Interac, welcomed Mr. Dhall's arrival and outlined the significance of his role at a pivotal time for the company.

Mr. Dhall joined Interac from PwC Canada, where he was a Partner in the Financial Services Technology practice. He previously held executive leadership roles at the Bank of Montreal, the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, and GE Capital Canada. Over the course of his career, he has led significant projects, including the launch of Canada's first mobile banking and brokerage applications, and the implementation of the first cloud-based banking interactive voice response platform in the country.
In his new role, Mr. Dhall will contribute to further technological advancements within Interac, focusing on maintaining the reliability and security that millions of Canadians expect, while supporting the progression of the country's payments infrastructure.

Interac serves as a payments and information exchange provider for close to 300 financial institutions across Canada, with Canadians making use of Interac products over 20 million times a day on average. The company has built a reputation for service reliability and security over its four decades of operation.
Mr. Dhall's appointment underscores Interac's aim to continue evolving its national digital infrastructure. The company's ongoing activities include maintaining and enhancing a wide network used daily by consumers and businesses for money movement and verification services, in collaboration with industry partners.
